Getting to Casa das Oliveiras from the west (Portimão/Lagos) by car

If using the A22 motorway from the west, use the instructions in this box and then continue below from (e). Leave the motorway at the exit to Lagoa North, turning right at the first roundabout, turning off at the first exit, and then going straight on at the next roundabout, always following the signs to Lagoa North. As you reach the town of Lagoa, turn left at the first roundabout, and continue for 500 metres down the hill until you reach a crossroads with the café "O Petiscão" in front of you on the right. Turn left.

a) Take the N125 heading for Lagoa. As you approach Lagoa there is a new motorway turnoff to the A22 and Silves. Ignore this.

b) Continue along the N125 which passes through Lagoa. Pass two junctions which are controlled by traffic lights. The second of these is the turning south to Carvoeiro. Keep straight on.

c) At the third junction with traffic lights, there is a signpost to Silves (7). Follow the signs to Silves which take you to the right and then back over the road you were on.

d) Bear right, continuing to follow signs to Silves and keep going for a further 300 metres until you come to a crossroads with "Moinho dos Cafés" café on the left. Turn right at this crossroads.

e) Follow the signs to Urzais/Lameiras/Sobral/Algoz, and after a further kilometre bear right at a fork follow the signs to Lameiras/Sobral/Algoz.

f) Continue on this road for just over two kilometres, keeping straight on at a crossroads. You will see the motorway viaduct ahead of you. Turn left onto a gravel road after going under the viaduct. There is a bus stop, a red postbox and a lot of letter boxes by the house on the corner. Signpost to "Casa das Oliveiras" pointing left.

g) Go up the gravel road, over a stream, ignoring the first turning on the right, until you reach a narrow bridge over a canal. Turn right immediately after crossing the canal, before the small house called "Casa Viana". Signpost to "Casa das Oliveiras" pointing right. "Casa das Oliveiras" is 200m up the gravel road on the right.
